Berfin Aksu - Violin

Biography

Berfin Aksu was born in 1998 in Ankara and recently graduated from the Royal Academy with First Class Honours, where she studied with Jack Liebeck.

Berfin studied Violin in Ankara and in 2011 she won the Young Musician of the Year in the Andante Classical Music Prize. From 2012 until 2016 she continued her studies at the Yehudi Menuhin School where she studied with Lutsia Ibragimova.

She has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Tonhalle Hall and participated in concerts with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kammerphilharmonie Bodensee Orchestra. In February of this year she performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Bursa Sumphony Orchestra in Turkey, conducted by Antonio Pirolli.

In 2019, Berin was a soloist in the Max Bruch Album performing the Adagio Appassionato which was recorded on the Sony Classical Label.

Berfin performs on a Nicolaus Gagliano violin (1751) kindly given to her by her family and donors of the CEV Foundation. Berfin is most grateful for the continued support of Talent Unlimited.
