Siqian Li, the Chinese-born pianist has been dazzling stages and audiences worldwide from the age of five. Her colorful yet powerful playing is nothing short of remarkable, and through her dedication, perseverance and passion, she has garnered an acclaimed career thus far.
Her performances have taken place across China, USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Egypt, Japan, South Korea to name just a few. She has graced the stages of the world’s most iconic venues, including Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, Egypt Cairo Opera House, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. She also frequents the festival circuit —— Annecy Classic Festival, Festival d’Auvers sur-Oise, Dinard Festival International de Musique, Puigcerda International Festival, Shanghai International Music Festival, BNP Paribas Rising Star Piano Festival are just a few that she has performed at across her career.
As an inspiring young musician, Siqian was invited to join the charity concerts for children’s musical education in China. As a soloist, she collaborated on a wide range of repertoire with international chamber musicians from time to time and appeared in concerts with Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, Xiamen Opera Symphony Orchestra, Kiev Philharmonic Orchestra, Ukraine State Symphony Orchestra, and Central Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Siqian is the Silver Medalist and the Special Prize Winner of San Jose International Piano Competition 2019, a semifinalist of the Leeds International Piano Competition 2018, the Grand Prix and the Special Prize Winner of Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition. She has also been awarded the First Prize at Imola International Piano Competition, Yamaha China Piano Competition Conservatoire, Puigcerda International Festival Competition, additionally, the Conservatorie Diploma at Tbilisi International Piano Competition, and prizes at Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition, Shanghai International Piano Competition, Chopin International Piano Competition in ASIA, International Music Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest, China National Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, Guangren Zhou Pianist Award. Meanwhile, Siqian is a YAMAHA Future Artist, Drake Calleja Trust Scholar (London), the recipient of Lansum Music Scholarship (Los Angeles), Chengxian Fu Music Scholarship (Taiwan), and generously supported by Talent Unlimited Foundation (London).
Born in December 1992 in Chongqing China, Siqian started her musical education at the age of four. She was a student of prestigious Chinese Pianist Madame Huiqiao Bao, received her Bachelor of Music Degree at Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing) and became the first pianist to be awarded the “Best of Best - Top and Innovative Talent” diploma and scholarship by China Ministry of Culture. After obtaining a Master of Music Degree with Academic Honors and a Graduate Diploma at New England Conservatory (Boston) as a student of Professor Alexander Korsantia, she continues to pursue an Artist Diploma at Royal College of Music (London) in the class of Professor Norma Fisher.
Siqian has received guidance and support from numerous internationally well-known pianists, such as Emannuel Ax, Sergei Babayan, Russel Sherman, Rodin Shchedrin, Boris Slutsky, Oxana Yablonskya, Arie Vardi, Vladimir Tropp, Ramzi Yassa, Guillermo Gonzalez etc., and has joined a variety of major festivals and masterclasses, such as Hamamatsu International Piano Academy, Imola Summer Piano Academy & Festival, Puigcerda International Piano Festival, International Festival and Masterclass “Dynasty”, Beijing International Piano Festival, Shanghai International Music Festival, among others.
