This was a high quality concert performed by Erzhan Kulibaev (violin) and Ilya Kondratiev at St. James’s Church, Piccadilly on Thursday 12th May. St. James’s has superb acoustics.
The search for perfectionism was easily perceived in the four works performed by Erzhan and Ilya: Sonata No. 5 by Beethoven: Divertimento by Stravinsky: Violin Sonata Op. 18 by Strauss and Rondo Capricosso Op. 28 by Saint-Saens.
If music is a universal language, what we heard this evening was the best articulation of it, gained after many years of practice and training. My sincere congratulations to Erzhan and Ilya.
