Utkucan Eken - Composer


Utkucan Eken was born in İzmir, Turkey in 1989.

His music education started at the İzmir Fine Arts Secondary School. He studied piano and cello during his secondary education.

Following his graduation he moved to İstanbul after being accepted to the Design of Audio Arts Programme of Yıldız Technical University’s Faculty of Art and Design. There he studied music technology and composition in an interdisciplinary study environment. He worked in a variety of lectures with Prof. Ruhi Ayangil, Assoc. Prof. Alper Maral and Assoc. Prof. Koray Sazlı. He completed his BA with Honors Degree.

His works includes a variety of genres. He composes and produces music within electronic and digital environments. As a music producer and composer he primarily works for Film and TV projects such as Documentaries, Film Trailers and Sonic Identities. His latest works includes the trailer music of ‘Snow Pirates’, which has been screened at the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival.

He has recently moved to London and continues with his Audio Production MA Programme at the University of Westminster.
