Biography
Anna Quiroga is an award-winning harpist who has recently graduated from a Masters Degree in Performance at the Royal College of Music, where she studied with Ieuan Jones, Rachel Masters and Daphne Boden; she has been generously supported by the Stanley Picker Award and the Agustí Pedro i Pons Foundation Scholarship. She is currently studying an Artist Diploma course in Solo Performance in the RCM and is being kindly supported by the Leverhulme Award and the charity Talent Unlimited.
Anna did Junior Department with Maria Lluïsa in the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, where she graduated with Honours. Subsequently, she undertook a Bachelor Degree in Music Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu, studying with Abigail Prat. She graduated with honours in 2013.
Anna has collaborated with various orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra (BBCSO Pathway Scheme). She has also toured Spain as a winner of the Concurso Permanente de Juventudes Musicales de España (JJMM) and participated in music festivals and projects such as the “Festival Internacional d’Arpa de Sentmenat”, the “Pòdium Internacional de Matadepera” and the “Soundings Project” among others. She has taken part in diverse RCMSO projects with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir. Roger Norrington, Bernard Haitink, Jean-Philippe Calvin, Kenneth Hesketh, Brett Dean and James Ledger.
Anna will be next performing the 15th February 7.30pm at the Royal College of Music in London, the 29th February in the East Parry Room in the Royal College of Music with double-bassist Valentina Scheldhofen, the 5th March at the Landmark Arts Centre with the Thames Philharmonia, the 30th March at St. Botolph’s Church, the 8th April in Figueres Auditorium (Spain) and the 25th June in Palafrugell (Spain).
