Iúnó Connolly - Soprano

Biography

Born in Wiltshire, Iúnó Connolly currently studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Lillian Watson and Jonathan Papp. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music with a First Class Honours degree. Whilst there, she trained with Catherine Benson.

Iúnó is the recipient of a Jennifer Vyvyan Scholarship; the Pat Syme Award (Simon Fletcher Charitable Trust); winner of the Promising Singer Prize at the Dean & Chadlington Festival and the Cecil Drew Oratorio Prize.

Opera roles include Vixen Sharp Ears (cover - BYO) The Cunning Little Vixen; Blanche de la Force Dialogues des Carmélites; Belinda Dido & Aeneas; Frau Fluth Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor - scenes; Tatyana Eugene Onegin - scenes; Adele Die Fledermaus - scenes; Ensemble Soprano Un Ballo in Maschera (Iford Opera).

Iúnó is a soloist for the RAM/Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Series and a member of the Academy’s prestigious Song Circle. She is extremely grateful to the Rothermere Foundation, the Sarum St Michael Educational Charity and Castlepines Equity for their generous support towards her postgraduate studies.
