Pedro López Salas - Piano

Biography

Born in 1997, Pedro is a Spanish pianist who is currently studying the Master of Performance with legendary Professor Norma Fisher at the Royal College of Music in London (RCM), with a full-fees scolarship award offered by Leverhulme Arts Scholarships. Winner of a multitude of awards in national and international competitions, among which the First Prizes in the International Piano Contests stand out: “Composers of Spain”, “CIPCE”; International Piano Competition “Ciudad de Leganés”; Malta International Competition; International Piano Competition “César Franck" from Brussels; International Piano Competition of Granada “María Herrero”; International Competition “Villa de Xábia", International Panticosa Competition “FIP”; or the first prizes obtained in the national competitions: “City of Albacete”, “Ciutat de Carlet”; “City of Linares, Marisa Montiel” or “Jacinto Guerrero” of Toledo, among others. Third Prize in the International Piano Competition of Valladolid “Frechilla-Zuloaga”, the Special Virtuoso Award at the Vienna International Music Competition, etc.

Pedro has performed in recitals in Spain, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, in auditoriums such as the “Palau de la Música” of Valencia, with the “Orquesta de Valencia” playing S. Prokofiev third piano concert; “Manuel de Falla” of Granada; “Wiener Saal” of Salzburg; “Teatro de la Maestranza” of Seville, playing F. Liszt second piano concert with the ROSS (Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla); “Miguel Delibes” of Valladolid, playing with the OSCYL (“Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León”); “Teatro Canónigos de la Granja” of Segovia and “Centro Cultural Nicolás Salmeron” of Madrid and with the CSKG orchestra, playing F. Chopin and F. Liszt second piano concerts, etc. His scheduled performances include “Rhapsody in Blue” of G.Gershwin at the ADDA of Alicante and the “Auditorio Internacional” of Torrevieja with the OST (“Orquesta Sinfónica de Torrevieja”).

He has also attended numerous international piano festivals, taking part in masterclasses with the most presigious piano masters.

In his role as composer, it deserves a special mention his composition of the Hymn of the “Bachiller Sabuco Historical Institute” of Albacete, for which he has received numerous awards.

López Salas has recently finished his studies with professor Mariana Gurkova in the CSKG (“Centro Superior Katarina Gurska”) of Madrid, receiving High Honors for piano, an Extraordinary National Education Award and an Exemplarity and Academic Merit Award from the Rotary Club.
