Leona currently studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Colin Stone. She started her piano studies at age three in Romania, continued her studies at the music school in Cluj, and later moved to the United States to study at the Alabama School of Fine Arts under Ronald Shinn. Over the years she has worked with professors from prestigious music institutions such as Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Juilliard School of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music and Royal Conservatory of Music. Leona has been awarded in both national and international competitions and festivals across Europe and United States, and has performed solo and chamber concerts in Romania, United States, England, Hungary and Spain.
Some of Leona’s most recent engagements are performances at the Bozsok International Music Festival in Hungary, the Balassi Hungarian Cultural Centre in London, the ‘Ion Dumitrescu’ State Philharmonic in Romania, and The Forge Venue in Camden collaborating with the compositional department of the Royal Academy of Music. Her plans for the future include a concert at Collegium Hungaricum Ungarisches Kulturinstitut in Vienna, and concert tours in Lithuania, and several cities in Romania.
